{"id":278987,"date":"2018-06-28T06:06:38","date_gmt":"2018-06-27T20:06:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=278987"},"modified":"2018-06-28T06:06:38","modified_gmt":"2018-06-27T20:06:38","slug":"hk-express-sets-rule-per-tsa-mandate","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/hk-express-sets-rule-per-tsa-mandate\/","title":{"rendered":"HK Express sets rule per TSA mandate"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>HONG KONG\u2014Following recent U.S. Transportation Security Administration mandates, Hong Kong-based airline HK Express will implement new screening measures on powder-like substances. <\/p>\n<p>Effective Saturday, June 30, 2018, substances exceeding 12 ounces or 350ml may only be carried in checked baggage. <\/p>\n<p>If found in carry-on bags, such substances could be subject to additional screenings or potentially discarded. <\/p>\n<p>The updated policy affects only outbound HK Express flights to the U.S. territory of Saipan. All other HK Express routes remain unaffected. <\/p>\n<p>Examples of substances that may be subject to scrutiny or restricted from carry-on include cosmetic powders, dry spices and protein powders. Substances such as baby formula, cremated human remains, medically prescribed items and duty-free powders inside a properly sealed Secure Tamper Evident Bag are exempted, but may be subject to additional security screening. <\/p>\n<p>For security purposes, travelers may be asked to separate dense powders from other items. To avoid inconvenience, passengers are advised to carry any powders exceeding 350ml in their checked baggage. <\/p>\n<p>HK Express will continue to adhere and abide by all introduced TSA measures.
