The Commonwealth Healthcare Corp. is seeking the public\u2019s help in providing input for its annual block grant applications to various federal agencies, with the funds to be used for its programs in the CNMI.<\/p>\n
The CNMI Maternal and Child Health Bureau is asking for additional information for its public health program\u2019s annual report to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services\u2019 MCHB.<\/p>\n
The annual report of activities for fiscal year 2017 and its plan of activities for the whole year of 2019\u2014from\u00a0Oct. 1 2018, to Sept. 30, 2019\u2014are included in the 2019 CNMI MCH Block Grant.<\/p>\n
CHCC\u2019s MCH has set a\u00a0July 10\u00a0deadline for the community to submit their inputs for its block grant application\u2019s annual report and plan.<\/p>\n
The annual report and plan is a requirement in the block grant application in order for federal money to continue funding the state\u2019s Title V program that serves mothers, pregnant women, infants, children, adolescents, and other children with special healthcare needs.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt is the CNMI MCH program\u2019s mission to promote and improve the health and wellness of these domains through the delivery of quality prevention programs and effective partnerships,\u201d they said in a statement.<\/p>\n

\nNCD public hearing<\/p>\n
CHCC is also seeking the public\u2019s contributions in providing information for the Preventive Health and Health Services block grant report that they would submit to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention office for State, Tribal, Local, and Territorial Support.<\/p>\n
PHHS\u2019 block grant provides states and territories funds in addressing their unique public health needs through innovative ways.<\/p>\n
CHCC has used the grant to address the burden caused by non-communicable diseases through collaborative projects and programs with other government, private, and non-profit organizations.<\/p>\n
CHCC\u2019s PHHS block grant program will be holding a public hearing on\u00a0July 3,\u00a0Tuesday, from\u00a05pm to 6pm\u00a0at the Public Health Preparedness conference room across the hospital gift shop.<\/p>\n
The public hearing will focus on gathering information from members of the community for recommendations that would form part of the 2018 PHHS block grant work plan.<\/p>\n
