Monroyo)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The tentative schedule of events for the athletics competition in the 2018 Micronesian Games has been released with the tournament running from July 16 to 19 at the Yap Sports Complex oval.<\/p>\n<p>Athletics will start with the men and women\u2019s 10K on July 16 at 7am, while the 13 remaining events in the opening day will take place in the afternoon session. Events lined up are the women\u2019s 100m hurdles, shot put, 200m run, and high jump for the heptathlon, women and men\u2019s 100m run heats, women\u2019s long jump, women and men\u2019s 400m run heats, men\u2019s discus, and women\u2019s javelin. The finals for the men and women\u2019s 100m runs are set for the final event of the evening of Day 1.<\/p>\n<p>Then on Day 2, the octathlon will start along with the remaining events (finals) in heptathlon. Others scheduled for July 17 are the finals of the men and women\u2019s 400m runs, men\u2019s long jump, women\u2019s shot put, men\u2019s 500m run, and women\u2019s high jump.<\/p>\n<p>For the penultimate day, athletes will compete in relays (4x100m in men and women\u2019s divisions), 200m run heats, men\u2019s 400m hurdles, men\u2019s and women\u2019s 800m finals, men\u2019s high jump, women\u2019s triple jump, and the remaining events in octathlon.<\/p>\n<p>For the last day of the competition, runners will still have the relays (4x400m) along with the finals of the 200m runs, 1,500m, women\u2019s discus, men\u2019s javelin, men\u2019s triple jump, and hurdles (men\u2019s 110 and women\u2019s 100).<\/p>\n<p>The CNMI will be fielding 18 individuals in the athletics events.
