{"id":279762,"date":"2018-07-11T06:06:37","date_gmt":"2018-07-10T20:06:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=279762"},"modified":"2018-07-11T06:06:37","modified_gmt":"2018-07-10T20:06:37","slug":"argument-over-weighing-scale-allegedly-leads-to-the-beating-of-pregnant-woman","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/argument-over-weighing-scale-allegedly-leads-to-the-beating-of-pregnant-woman\/","title":{"rendered":"Argument over weighing scale allegedly leads to the beating of pregnant woman"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>An argument over a weighing scale allegedly led to a man\u2019s beating of his relative who is two months pregnant at a residence in As Lito last week.  <\/p>\n<p>The pregnant woman had slight swelling and bruising above her left eyebrow, police said.<\/p>\n<p>Victor Hocog Aldan, 39, was arrested and taken before the Superior Court yesterday on charges of assault and battery, and disturbing the peace.<\/p>\n<p>Associate Judge Kenneth L. Govendo imposed a $5,000 cash bail on Aldan and set the preliminary hearing for July 16 at 1:30pm.<\/p>\n<p>According to police detective Rose T. Rios, three police officers responded to a disturbance complaint in As Lito last Thursday afternoon.<\/p>\n<p>Rios stated in his report that an eyewitness reported that Aldan and another relative confronted the alleged victim about a weighing scale.<\/p>\n<p>The confrontation escalated into an argument.
