WASHINGTON, D.C.\u2014Congresswoman Madeleine Z. Bordallo announced $15.6 million for Guam\u2019s students and youngsters with developmental disabilities, awarded by the U.S. Department of Education. This federal funding will help the Guam Department of Education provide the necessary in-school services and accommodations for students with developmental disabilities, including those with learning disabilities. This new federal funding award will also support infants and toddlers with developmental disabilities and their families.<\/p>\n
Each year, Bordallo works to safeguard Guam\u2019s share of federal funding from the U.S. Department of Education, awarded under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act. This funding provides essential federal support and services for our island\u2019s students with developmental disabilities and their families that they would not otherwise receive, given GovGuam\u2019s budgetary constraints.<\/p>\n
