A 3-year-old girl suffered multiple injuries after her legal guardian allegedly bit her and struck her with a wooden backscratcher and large glass cup at a residence in Chalan Kanoa last week. <\/p>\n
According to a treating physician at the Commonwealth Health Center, the right side of the girl\u2019s head had a puncture wound, and that she had red and bruising underneath all fingernails, and redness and bruising on both large toes.<\/p>\n
As of 2pm last Friday, the girl was still under evaluation and treatment at CHC, police said.<\/p>\n
The legal guardian, Vicenta Veronica Igisomar, 44, was arrested last Saturday and taken before the Superior Court yesterday for bail hearing on charges of child abuse.<\/p>\n
Associate Judge Teresa Kim-Tenorio imposed a $25,000 cash bail on Igisomar and set the preliminary hearing for July 24 at 1:30pm.<\/p>\n
Police detective Flora Danica B. Aguon stated in her report that last Thursday night she was called about a child abuse incident and proceeded to CHC emergency room where she met with a police officer.<\/p>\n
Aguon said the officer informed her that she had a reason to believe that the 3-year-old girl, who was taken to CHC\u2019s emergency room, was abused by her guardian and that it was the biological parents who discovered the abuse.<\/p>\n
The officer stated that the guardian, Igisomar, fled the scene before his arrival and that the girl was transported to CHC for further treatment.<\/p>\n
Aguon said the girl\u2019s mother stated that she and her husband were walking by Igisomar\u2019s residence when they heard a little girl\u2019s scream and cry.<\/p>\n
The parents went to the house and the mother asked Igisomar, who has been the guardian for the past year, if her daughter was fine.<\/p>\n
Igisomar stated that she spanked the girl with a backscratcher and that she can take her back if she wants.<\/p>\n
The mother further observed that her daughter was crying and bleeding on both her toes and that she had a cut on her head area.<\/p>\n
The mother then called 911.<\/p>\n
Aguon said the girl stated that Igisomar bit all of her fingers and big toes. <\/p>\n
The girl said Igisomar also hit her back with a wooden scratcher and hit her head with a large glass cup.<\/p>\n
Igisomar also allegedly spread the girl\u2019s legs hard while the child was lying down on the bed. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
