Concepcion said this coming September\u2019s International Festival of Cultures will also highlight the islands\u2019 diversity.<\/p>\n<p>The three-day celebration, which will be held from Sept. 21 to 23 at the Paseo de Marianas, will feature the indigenous Chamorro and Carolinian cultures; the culture of the rest of Micronesia like Palau, Yap, Chuuk, Kosrae, and the Marshall Islands; Polynesia, Hawaii, Samoa; and some of the Asian cultures that have thrived in the Commonwealth like Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Philippines, Bangladesh, and many others.  <\/p>\n<p>Concepcion also pinpointed that there will be booths representing each culture and promoting and educating on \u201cwhat there culture is all about\u201d to the CNMI community. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cSome of them serve food, sell food, some of them do arts and crafts, and some of them do performances,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>Last year, the International Festival of Cultures was held at the Garapan Fishing Base where 11 different cultural communities exhibited their traditional customs such as food, clothing, and adornments. <\/p>\n<p>Concepcion said the Commonwealth Council for Arts and Culture Arts Council will be collaborating with MVA for the event.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey are tasked with arts and culture so they will be obviously supporting this event,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Marianas Visitors Authority managing director Christopher A.
