{"id":280495,"date":"2018-07-23T06:06:21","date_gmt":"2018-07-22T20:06:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=280495"},"modified":"2018-07-23T06:06:21","modified_gmt":"2018-07-22T20:06:21","slug":"keep-the-distance","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/keep-the-distance\/","title":{"rendered":"Keep the distance"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In August of 2016, an article was written by Erwin Encinares entitled, \u201cMVA agrees on sanctions for tourists violating traffic laws.\u201d Tourist or not, anyone who violates traffic laws can \u201ccreate potentially dangerous situations.\u201d It will only take time for tourists to better understand the way our traffic laws on island work. Let\u2019s face it if we were to go to their country, we would probably end up doing the same thing. <\/p>\n<p>There are better ways to address this situation rather than having to sanction someone new to the island. Perhaps putting up signs that they are able to understand and giving tour guides to those who are renting a rental car, may lessen the confusion between the tourists and our traffic laws. I personally suggest that we not only look out for tourists on the road, but one another.
