I have been taking this time to really listen to them—to their concerns, their ideas, their hopes. And I’ve noticed some common themes.

“People want a government that works for them. A government that pays its bills and honors its obligations. A government that prioritizes investments in the things that improve the quality of life for all. Like our healthcare system. Like public infrastructure. Like our public schools, our community college, our trade school. Like the safety and cleanliness of our villages.

“People want an economy that works for them. An economy that makes life better for all and not just a few. An economy that is sustainable—driven by the vision of this community, the people who live here. And development that respects our island culture and environment.

“People want leaders they can trust. Leaders who listen. Leaders who do their research before acting on bills. Leaders who put the wellbeing of the community first above special interests and self-interest.

“I am often advised not to make any promises in this campaign because I might not be able to keep them. It’s sound, practical advice that I take to heart.

“But there are a few commitments I know I can make, because I have made and kept them before, when I served in the 16th Legislature.

“I am committed to being open and transparent as a candidate and as a legislator, and to pushing for greater transparency and accountability from all public officials.

“I am committed to consulting with my constituents, listening to them, and doing my research and due diligence before I make decisions.

“And I am committed to putting the wellbeing of our community first, and working for a safer, healthier, and more beautiful Marianas that we can be proud of.

“I am grateful to all who have been with me from the very beginning of this journey—my family, friends, mentors, and fellow independent and Democratic candidates—and to all who have contributed so generously to this campaign. Thank you for your time, your donations, your prayers, advice, and encouragement.

“I look forward to meeting with many more people in the coming months.
