{"id":282245,"date":"2018-08-15T06:06:23","date_gmt":"2018-08-14T20:06:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=282245"},"modified":"2018-08-15T06:06:23","modified_gmt":"2018-08-14T20:06:23","slug":"rotaract-to-hold-summer-shootout","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/rotaract-to-hold-summer-shootout\/","title":{"rendered":"Rotaract to  hold Summer  Shootout"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Rotaract Club will organize the island\u2019s very first Summer Shootout, a free throw basketball competition, as a way to fund raise for the youth organization\u2019s future events like professional development programs for high school students.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe wanted to hold a professional development workshop but, as we are going through the planning process, it turns out funding is a major issue,\u201d said Rotaract Club\u2019s Keoni Seichi during yesterday\u2019s Rotary Club of Saipan meeting at the Hyatt Regency Saipan.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTo help with this, we will have a $20 registration fee and the total prize is $500. It goes to the No. 1 shooter in the game,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>He said the Rotaract Club has been lately giving out flyers to basketball players by visiting each basketball court around the island to encourage people to join the upcoming event. <\/p>\n<p>Siechi wishes for the local Rotary Club to continue maintaining community projects to strengthen its relationship with the community. <\/p>\n<p>The Rotaract Club is a service, leadership, professional and community service organization for young men and women between the ages 18-30.
