Ralph DLG Torres expressed the importance of building private sector partnerships for charity or community projects.

“Through these private sector partnerships, we can build our capacity to serve our community and provide funding for charitable causes. Throughout the years, MTEC and private partners have helped educate our youth on the importance of tourism. At the end of the day, all this will benefit our entire Commonwealth by sustaining our tourism awareness,” Torres said.

“The tournament has been so fortunate over the years with businesses stepping up as sponsors. It shows how aware businesses are regarding the importance of the tourism industry to the economy, but more importantly, how we reinforce that importance in the generations to come,” MTEC chair Vicky Benavente added.

This year’s major sponsors—DFS T-Galleria, the Tan Siu Lin Foundation, Hyatt Regency Saipan, IT&E, and United Airlines, have each donated $3,000 or more in cash and in-kind prizes.

The classic sponsors—Bank of Guam, IP&E, Mar- Pac, Marianas Variety, and Power 99—have made generous contributions of $2,000 or more in cash and other prizes. Hole-in-one sponsors Triple J Motors, Pacifica Insurance, and Joeten Motors have put forth fantastic cash prizes and brand new vehicles.

Classic contributors with donations of $1,000 include First Hawaiian Bank, Fiesta Resort & Spa Saipan, Island Training Solutions, Bank of Saipan, and McDonald’s Saipan. Other donors to the tournament include the Hotel Association of the Northern Mariana Islands, Micronesian Brokers, Pacific Islands Club Saipan, The Water Company, and Triple J 5-Star Wholesale.

“Sponsorship is key to any successful fundraising event and we look forward to bringing more sponsors on-board because MTEC and the My WAVE Clubs have a direct impact on our student community and the tourism industry,” tournament director James Nelson said.

This year’s entry fee is $100 and includes cart and green fees, morning snacks, free flowing on-course refreshments, and awards banquet. Participants can also look forward to the nearest to the pin and longest drive competitions.

Entry forms are available and payments accepted at the MVA and Laolao Bay Golf & Resort. Golfers are encouraged to register as soon as possible as player slots are filling up fast and only 144 golfers can be accommodated. The deadline for registration is Aug. 29 at 5pm. (PR)

Without sponsors, it would be extremely difficult for non-profit organizations to be successful in raising…

[5
1557,1849,1526,3360
post-282473","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-sports","tag-first-hawaiian-bank","tag-james-nelson","tag-mtec","tag-pacifica-insurance
["GET
