The Commonwealth Election Commission will start receiving requests for absentee ballots for the Nov. 6 election tomorrow, Thursday, CNMI time.<\/p>\n
CEC executive director Julita Villagomez said yesterday that they will start giving forms for absentee ballots tomorrow to walk-in registered voters.<\/p>\n
Villagomez said off-island registered voters can also start downloading and filling out their application forms for absentee ballots tomorrow. <\/p>\n
\u201cWe will check or verify the records if they are registered voters,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n
For walk-ins, she said, CEC staff will check the records right there and, if they are indeed registered voters, they will be told that their applications are good.<\/p>\n
Villagomez said absentee voters will be given the ballots if CEC is already done with the printing.<\/p>\n
For those who will use CEC\u2019s website to get the application for absentee ballots, she said they just need to fill out the form, scan it, then either email or fax it to CEC.<\/p>\n
Villagomez said the applicants should check if CEC receives their filled-out forms.<\/p>\n
Villagomez said during the last election, there were close to 3,000 absentee voters, including early voters.<\/p>\n
