{"id":282845,"date":"2018-08-23T06:06:54","date_gmt":"2018-08-22T20:06:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=282845"},"modified":"2018-08-23T06:06:54","modified_gmt":"2018-08-22T20:06:54","slug":"invitation-to-join-community-choir","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/invitation-to-join-community-choir\/","title":{"rendered":"Invitation to join community choir"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Friends of the Arts is inviting the public to join the Saipan Community Choir.\u00a0No audition is required.\u00a0 Adults and students are welcome.\u00a0 <\/p>\n<p>The choir will perform at an FOA holiday concert in December and other events before and after.\u00a0 <\/p>\n<p>The choir will start meeting on Aug. 23 at 6:30pm and will practice every Thursday from 6:30pm to 8:30pm.<\/p>\n<p>The choir will be directed by Katie Hoyt, FOA board secretary, who\u00a0received her bachelor\u2019s in Music from Dixie State University where she studied voice, sang in and accompanied the choirs, and was a rehearsal pianist for the school&#8217;s performance of The Gondoliers by Gilbert and Sullivan.\u00a0Hoyt was the musical director for the recent FOA production of Into the Woods.
