Babauta is currently in the U.S. mainland for a five-stop campaign sortie for the Nov. 6 general election. <\/p>\n<p>Babauta, who is with his wife Charlene and Sen. Paul A. Manglona (Ind-Rota), made the first stop in Union City last Sunday, where he met hundreds of people at Tomi\u2019s Seafood Buffet.<\/p>\n<p>Babauta\u2019s running mate, Dr. Rita A. Sablan, did not join the campaign.<\/p>\n<p>Vince Pangelinan, the social media chairman for the Babauta-Sablan team, said yesterday that Sablan has been doing house-to-house campaigns on Saipan and Tinian.<\/p>\n<p>After meeting with 326 people in Union City, California, Babauta proceeded to San Diego, California last Tuesday, where he had a get-together with the people at Natsumi Restaurant.<\/p>\n<p>Babauta will meet people at Adobo Restaurant along Washington Square Road in Tigard, Oregon tomorrow, Saturday. He will then go Washington State on Sunday for a gathering at a residence. <\/p>\n<p>Babauta\u2019s last stop will be at a restaurant in Boise, Idaho on Monday, Aug. 27.<\/p>\n<p>Pangelinan said the former governor is happy with the good reception he has gotten from people in the U.S. mainland.<\/p>\n<p>Lucille Camacho Hilario, organizer of Babauta\u2019s NorCal visit, said there were 326 people altogether at the gathering in Union City.<\/p>\n<p>Hilario said some CNMI voters drove from as far as Eureka, California, which is 4 1\/2 hours away from Tomi\u2019s Seafood Buffet.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe were overwhelmed to see how much CNMI people care about what\u2019s happening in our home,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>Hilario said they extended the event in Union City for one hour and 35 minutes as the people wanted to spend more time.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEven after almost two hours, we continued discussion outside [the restaurant],\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>To their delight, Hilario said, the Filipino community around California also came to attend.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Independent gubernatorial candidate Juan N.
