In summary, the bill:<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; allows adults 21 and older and patients with certain medical conditions to possess limited amounts of\u00a0marijuana\u00a0(one ounce),\u00a0marijuana-infused products (16 ounces in solid form, 72 ounces in liquid form), and\u00a0marijuana\u00a0extracts (five grams);\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; creates a Homegrown\u00a0Marijuana\u00a0Registry, through which adults and patients can register to grow a limited number of\u00a0marijuana\u00a0plants (six mature and 12 immature or up to twice that amount in the case of medical need) for personal use;\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; directs the legislature to enact taxes and fees on all\u00a0marijuana\u00a0sold by a producer, as well as an excise tax on retail sales of\u00a0marijuana\u00a0for adult use (medical\u00a0marijuana\u00a0is exempt);\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; provides for six types of regulated\u00a0marijuana\u00a0businesses: producers, testing facilities, processors, retailers, wholesalers, and lounges; and\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; establishes a five-member appointed CNMI Cannabis Commission, which will serve as the regulatory agency overseeing commercial\u00a0marijuana\u00a0and hemp.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Source: Marijuana\u00a0Policy Project<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>H.B. 20-178, or Taulamwaar Sensible CNMI Cannabis Act of 2018, now goes to Gov.
