SHRM CEO to headline NMI chapter meeting<\/strong><\/p>\n

Johnny C. Taylor Jr., president and chief executive officer of the Society for Human Resource Management, will be the keynote speaker of the CNMI SHRM general membership meeting this month.<\/p>\n

This will be the first time in two decades that the organization\u2019s national president will visit the CNMI.<\/p>\n

This meeting will be held at Pacific Island Club Saipan\u2019s Charley\u2019s Cabaret today, Sept. 5, 2018, beginning at 12pm. It is open to the public.<\/p>\n

The presentation includes the PIC lunch buffet at a cost of $20 for SHRM members and $30 for non-members.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

Weightlifting Federation meeting on Saturday<\/strong><\/p>\n

The CNMI Weightlifting Federation invites all persons interested in the sport of weightlifting to an open meeting to be held on Saturday, Sept. 8, 2018, starting at 10:30am at the NMPASI conference room in Gualo Rai, Saipan. Discussion at the meeting will focus on plans, ideas, and goals for the promotion and participation of CNMI weightlifters in upcoming international weightlifting competitions and the 2021 Micro Games.<\/p>\n

CHamoru commission meetings in Sept., Oct.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The\u00a0Kumisi\u00f3n i Fino\u2019 CHamoru yan i Fina\u2019n\u00e5\u2019guen i Historia yan i Lina\u2019la\u2019 i Taotao T\u00e5no\u2019\u00a0(Commission on CHamoru Language and the Teaching of the History\u00a0and Culture of the Indigenous People of Guam)\u00a0will have its\u00a0September and October monthly meetings on Thursday,\u00a0Sept. 13\u00a0and 27 and Oct. 11 and 25, from 12:30pm to 3pm at the Department of Parks and Recreation Paseo conference room in Hag\u00e5t\u00f1a.\u00a0Agenda items include but are not limited to: approval of minutes, reports from the chair, vice chair, secretary and committee chairs, financial matters, orthography revisions, and strategic plans and implementation activities. Work sessions will also be held on Thursdays, Sept. 6 and 20 and Oct. 4 and 18, from 12:30pm to 3pm at the same venue.\u00a0<\/p>\n
