The center and the UOG Sea Grant Program were recently awarded a $75,000 conservation innovation grant from the U.S. Department of Agriculture. <\/p>\n
The competitive grant will support the Guam Restoration of Watersheds Initiative, which aims to improve the health of\u00a0Guam\u2019s\u00a0watershed and coastal ecosystems.<\/p>\n
The GROW Initiative\u00a0takes an interdisciplinary approach to testing and developing novel tools to restore degraded watersheds, coral reefs, and fisheries. The grant will support innovative strategies such as using drones to disperse seeds and soil in hard-to-reach eroding hillsides.
