Hocog signed a proclamation declaring September as Youth Empowerment Month.<\/p>\n<p>The YAP planning session at the Kanoa Resort was in collaboration with the Public School System. <\/p>\n<p>\u201c\u2026We gather all of our youth advisory leaders and they plan, discuss, and collaborate with [leaders from] other schools. They also bring activities to the middle and elementary schools,\u201d said PSS Personal Responsibility Education Program director Melisha San Nicolas.<\/p>\n<p>San Nicolas noted that YAP leaders totaled about 70 to 80 yesterday. <\/p>\n<p>Kagman High School YAP president Genzo Gonzales noted that being in YAP is way for students to represent the school in a positive light.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBeing a part of the YAP is basically being a leader for your school,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>KHS YAP vice president Aundrea Aldan noted that some of the outreach programs they do include anti-bullying talks.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe do a lot of outreach to middle school and elementary levels, where we talk about bullying, sexual violence, cyber bullying, and things like that,\u201d she said. Aldan\u2019s involvement with YAP dates back to her time at the Chacha Oceanview Middle School.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe made a difference back in middle school, where we are getting them excited for high school.
