I knew Raymond Nakazato from my Speech Communications class at the Northern Marianas College. We always had a great time joking with each another. He\u2019d make fun of my bald head; I\u2019d always say he may be in the same boat because of his habit of wearing a hat to class. His sense of humor, smile, and attitude always made my day. He shouldn\u2019t be gone, yet he is, and the pain of his absence is overwhelming. I hope this poem will help me and Ray\u2019s family cope with his passing.<\/p>\n
\u2018Heart for Ray\u2019<\/p>\n
it\u2019s too heavy
\nfull of blood in the same story
\ni didn\u2019t do enough to belong
\nonly people through pinholes make it
\nthe ones who move mountains with belief
\nthe unborn too young
\nthey have a chance
\nmy muscled drum weighed against a hawk\u2019s flight over clouds
\ni wish to tuck under my arms
\nbe above everything
\nbefore they realize my charade
\ngetting in a with a heart-shaped box
\nfilled to the brim
\nwith uncertainty<\/p>\n
