{"id":285315,"date":"2018-09-25T06:06:53","date_gmt":"2018-09-24T20:06:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=285315"},"modified":"2018-09-25T06:06:53","modified_gmt":"2018-09-24T20:06:53","slug":"cec-to-mail-1383-absentee-ballots-today","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/cec-to-mail-1383-absentee-ballots-today\/","title":{"rendered":"CEC to mail 1,383 absentee ballots today"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Commonwealth Election Commission will start mailing 1,383 absentee ballots today, Tuesday, according to CEC executive director Julita Villagomez. <\/p>\n<p>In an interview with Saipan Tribune yesterday, Villagomez said this is only the first batch of absentee ballots that will be sent to the U.S. mainland, Hawaii, and Guam.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs soon as they receive their ballots, they can start voting and mailing it back,\u201d said Villagomez.<\/p>\n<p>She said they don\u2019t know yet the total number of absentee voters for the Nov. 6 general election.<\/p>\n<p>The deadline for application for absentee voting by electronic\/mail is Oct. 12.
