Yaquinto and CUC have agreed to an early conference for possible settlement in their court dispute. <\/p>\n<p>At a status conference yesterday, U.S. District Court for the NMI Chief Judge Ramona V. Manglo\u00f1a asked the parties about setting an early settlement talks.<\/p>\n<p>According to the minutes of the hearing, David Banes, counsel for Yaquinto, agreed to settlement talks.<\/p>\n<p>CUC counsel James S. Sirok agreed with Banes and suggested another status conference.<\/p>\n<p>Manglo\u00f1a set the matter for an early settlement conference to Jan. 22, 2019, before Magistrate Judge Heather L. Kennedy.<\/p>\n<p>The deadline to file discovery responses is Oct. 1, 2018.<\/p>\n<p>Yaquinto filed a discrimination lawsuit against CUC and five unnamed co-defendants in December 2017 over his termination as chief financial officer in May 2016, allegedly without cause.<\/p>\n<p>CUC filed a counterclaim against Yaquinto for alleged unauthorized overtime pay, unauthorized wire transfers, and unsupported moving expenses.<\/p>\n<p>CUC wants Yaquinto held liable to pay back the $49,399 in unauthorized overtime payments, damages representing wire transfer costs, $10,000 in moving expenses, as well as court costs, expert fees, and attorney\u2019s fees. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Former Commonwealth Utilities Corp. financial officer Matthew J.
