{"id":285560,"date":"2018-09-28T06:06:12","date_gmt":"2018-09-27T20:06:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=285560"},"modified":"2018-09-28T06:06:12","modified_gmt":"2018-09-27T20:06:12","slug":"tinian-senatorial-candidate-pleads-not-guilty-to-dui","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/tinian-senatorial-candidate-pleads-not-guilty-to-dui\/","title":{"rendered":"Tinian senatorial candidate pleads not guilty to DUI"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Tinian senatorial candidate Eric Henry Cruz San Nicolas pleaded not guilty to driving under the influence of alcohol. <\/p>\n<p>San Nicolas, who was arrested in July 28, pleaded not guilty during his arraignment hearing on Aug. 30, 2018 that was filed at the Superior Court on Sept. 7, 2018. <\/p>\n<p>San Nicolas is adamant about keeping his promise to fight the citation in court because he claims the DUI allegations against him are false.<\/p>\n<p>Superior Court Associate Judge Joseph Camacho ordered San Nicolas to return to court on Oct. 18, 2018, for a status conference where he will be represented by assistant public defender Jean Nogues. <\/p>\n<p>San Nicolas, a former Commonwealth Utilities Corp. board member, is an independent candidate for a Tinian Senate seat.<\/p>\n<p>San Nicolas is among four other Tinian independent candidates who submitted petitions for nomination for Senate and House of Representatives seats.<\/p>\n<p>In a previous article, Department of Public Safety spokesperson Jacqueline Rae stated that a woman called the department back in July 28 about a theft incident involving San Nicolas but when officers arrived at the scene, San Nicolas was not there.<\/p>\n<p>Rae said San Nicolas returned a short time later and returned the items to the woman.<\/p>\n<p>Rae said police officers, however, cited San Nicolas with DUI at that time.<\/p>\n<p>Rae said the incident happened in Koblerville at 1:23am.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Tinian senatorial candidate Eric Henry Cruz San Nicolas pleaded not guilty to driving under the&#8230;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":24,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[4],"tags":[355,21960,21752,22156],"class_list":["post-285560","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-local-news","tag-dui","tag-jacqueline-rae","tag-jean-nogues","tag-tinian-senate"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/285560","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/24"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=285560"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/285560\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=285560"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=285560"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=285560"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
