Frank \u201cThe Crank\u201d Camacho will still see action in Ultimate Fighting Championships despite completing his four-fight deal with the American mixed martial arts promotion company last month.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe UFC wants to have me back. So I am blessed for the opportunity,\u201d Camacho told Saipan Tribune yesterday.<\/p>\n
The Marianas pride had his fourth UFC bout last Sept. 8 when he battled Geoff \u201cHandz of Steel\u201d Neal in UFC 228: Woodley vs Till at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas. Neal won the fight via knockout after downing Camacho with a head kick at the 1:23 mark of the second round. The win was Neal\u2019s fourth straight with three of his successive victories coming by way of KOs. Camacho, on the other hand, dropped to a 1-3 mark in UFC and 21-7 overall.<\/p>\n
The 29-year-old Camacho admitted that younger Neal caught him off guard and the former is raring to go back and redeem himself.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe last fight was a tough loss. I\u2019ve never lost like that in my career. It\u2019s truly a blessing in disguise and I cannot wait to get back after it and fix the mistakes that I made in that fight,\u201d Camacho said.<\/p>\n
The Saipan-raised fighter will soon return to training and hopes to be back on the eight sides either late this year or early next.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m recovering well. I feel 100 percent recovered. I have one more medical check up for the 100 percent clear to get back into full training and hopefully get something soon. I\u2019m looking at the end of the year or beginning of next year fight,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Camacho dueled Neal in welterweight class (170-lbs catch weight) and some are encouraging him to return to lightweight (155 lbs).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
