Carmel Cathedral, starting at 5:30pm. Members of the community are invited to share ideas on how to make Precinct 2 a better place to live, work, visit, and play. Precinct 2 includes Chalan Kanoa, Susupe, Fina Sisu, As Lito, and As Perdido. The forum is free and all are welcome. For more information or to RSVP, contact Sablan at 285-3935 or\u00a0tinasablan@gmail.com.\u00a0(PR)<\/p>\n<p><strong>SINMI accepting applications for award<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Soroptimist International of the Northern Mariana Islands is now accepting applications for our annual Live Your Dream award.\u00a0 The completed application and two reference forms must be submitted before Oct. 10, 2018, for consideration in the judging process.\u00a0 For digital copies of both forms, email\u00a0pbrown52@gmail.com.<\/p>\n<p>These annual awards are given to women who are attending college or vocational\u00a0training and who are the primary financial support for their family.\u00a0 A list of other requirements will be provided.\u00a0 The award money can be spent on whatever a recipient chooses.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0Plan ahead to attend our award ceremony on Oct. 20 at the Fiesta Resort &amp; Spa Saipan at 6pm.\u00a0 Ticket prices are $50. (PR)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Military training at FDM, W-11AB\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>ASAN, Guam\u2014The U.S. military will conduct training at the island of Farallon de Medinilla on Oct. 3-5, from 11am to 11pm. It is recommended the public, fishermen and marine tour operators monitor the Coast Guard broadcast notice to mariners for advisories.\u00a0 The general location of the training on the island of Farallon de Medinilla will be in a 12-nautical mile radius of the island. (PR)<\/p>\n<p><strong>SCC sets October meeting<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Saipan Chamber of Commerce will have its October general membership meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2018, at Fiesta Resort &amp; Spa Saipan. Lunch will be served at 11:30am and the meeting will begin promptly at noon.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The guest speaker is Esther Mu\u00f1a, who will give an update on the Commonwealth Healthcare Corp. The U.S. Marine Corp. Reserve and Saipan Young Professionals will also kick off the Toys 4 Tots Program. Chamber-member fee is $25\/person and for non-members $35\/person. (PR)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Red Ribbon Week proclamation signing<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>There will be a proclamation signing of Red Ribbon Week at the Saipan Southern High School cafeteria on Oct. 4, 2018, Thursday, at 9am. Red Ribbon Week is the oldest and largest drug prevention campaign in the country. The National Family Partnership organized the first nationwide Red Ribbon Campaign in 1988. Since that time, the campaign has reached millions of U.S. children.
