Both PEGS and PIC Saipan managed to post a double-digit winning margin after breaking away in the third period.

Up by only 5 points at the break, 50-45, PIC Saipan built a 80-68 advantage at the start of the third canto, thanks to the 13 points of Paulo Rafols and the combined contribution of Sean Rabasto, James Abuy, and Jerome Norita.

Rafols then made PIC’s first 3 markers in the final canto, while his teammates Butch Sublemente and Rommel Bartolo finished off Cellular Pro. Sublemente scored 7 straight points after Rafols had his and-1 play, while Bartolo also hit baskets in streaks, registering 6 markers.

Again, Cellular Pro leaned heavily on Prince Factor, who recorded 22 points and these were not enough to put the team on the win column after three tries.

In the second game, PEGS made it two in a row, as it pulled away from Pacific Postal Plus in the penultimate frame.

Ahead by only 8 after the first half, 41-33, Ron Gamboa and Dennis Geron teamed up for 20 of their 26 points in the third period, which ended with PEGS on top by 16, 67-51. Geron scored 9 points in that surge with all his baskets coming from the 3-point area, while Gamboa drilled 11, including the 7 straight to wrap up the pivotal quarter.

Geron was still at it in the final canto, adding 12 points, while the rest of his teammates also stepped up to complete the rout.

Meanwhile, it was Kensington Hotel that won last Monday’s first game not Armatech as earlier reported.

Pacific Islands Club Saipan and PEGS cruised past their respective foes in the IT&E Emon…

[5
22796,22214,22774,22419
post-286049","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-sports","tag-cellular-pro","tag-koblerville-gymnasium","tag-pacific-postal-plus","tag-pegs
["GET
