Tebuteb further noted that most job fairs were conducted at the Pedro P. Tenorio Multi-Purpose Center.

“We wanted to change locations to make it more convenient for residents of the surrounding community. We still have several other villages to hit, but [by setting up job fairs in other areas of Saipan] we can be all inclusive,” he continued.

According to Tebuteb, the DOL has been issuing out feedback forms to employers and job seekers to take not of possible improvements to future job fairs.

DOL acting secretary Gil San Nicolas told Saipan Tribune that their target for the job fair was at least 100.

“We have [several] participating employers, so on behalf of DOL secretary Vicky Benavente, we thank them for participating. We hopefully would have more numbers at the end of the day,” he said.

“We are hoping that jobseekers who [attend the job fair] get hired, because that is the goal of the job fair,” he continued.

According to San Nicolas, the DOL is already discussing the next job fair, which takes about two to three months of planning.

“…I am pretty sure we are going to have another one,” said San Nicolas. “Ultimately, the goal is to have employers hire more available and qualified U.S. citizens—it is a process we need to continue,” he continued, adding that he was satisfied with the number of participating employers.

San Nicolas noted that the job fairs hosted by DOL is in line with U.S. Public Law 115-218.

The Department of Labor’s Job Fair at the Kagman High School cafeteria attracted over 50…

[4
573,3323,419,38
post-286219","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-local-news","tag-dol","tag-gil-san-nicolas","tag-kagman-high-school","tag-saipan-tribune
["GET
