{"id":28628,"date":"2014-02-27T10:55:07","date_gmt":"2014-02-27T02:55:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/tribune.ctsi-logistics.com\/?p=28628"},"modified":"2014-02-27T10:55:07","modified_gmt":"2014-02-27T02:55:07","slug":"random-drug-test-policy-fully-adhered-within-pss","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/random-drug-test-policy-fully-adhered-within-pss\/","title":{"rendered":"\u2018Random drug test policy is fully adhered to within PSS\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>If other government departments and entities are failing to conduct random drug testing among their employees, that is not the case with the Public School System.<\/p>\n<p>Saipan Tribune learned that just recently, a handful of employees of the CNMI Public School System\u2014mostly its top officials\u2014went through random drug testing.<\/p>\n<p>Education Commissioner Dr. Rita A. Sablan disclosed that drug testing is a normal procedure in the school system and that they faithfully adhere to the policies, rules, and regulations of the State Board of Education.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat testing is a normal procedure for us because, in PSS, we do have policy in place that mandates a random drug testing every calendar year,\u201d explained Sablan. A calendar year is from January to December.<\/p>\n<p>For Sablan, anybody in charge of schoolchildren can be subjected to random drug tests, as required by the system policy.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s not just in PSS but everywhere.
