The Field of Heroes Freedom Walk, which is meant to remember those who laid down their lives during the 9\/11 disaster back in 2001, would start at 5pm tomorrow on Saipan.<\/p>\n
The walk would start from the Garapan Fishing Base up to the venue site at the American Memorial Park.<\/p>\n
The Department of Fire and Emergence Medical Services would provide a water cannon salute to walk participants, according to TanHoldings vice president for Corporate Affairs Cathy Attao-Toves. TanHoldings Corp. and its charitable arm, the Tan Siu Lin Foundation, is hosting the annual event.<\/p>\n
Attao-Toves said that a little over 300 flags have garnered sponsors.<\/p>\n
At the AMP, the CNMI National Anthem would be played by the Music of the Marianas Association, followed by the invocation and welcome greetings by National Park Service superintendent Barbara Alberti.<\/p>\n
TanHoldings president Jerry Tan would speak, followed by a guest speaker, whom Toves has yet to disclose as of publication. <\/p>\n
A wreath dedication followed by a moment of silence will be followed by a 30-second-long siren of all emergency vehicles in the CNMI. A 21-gun salute, followed by a performance by Sam Sosa would then follow.<\/p>\n
The entire event is open to the public.<\/p>\n
Proceeds from the event would be funneled toward the Northern Marianas Humanities Council to support their efforts to help those with post-traumatic stress disorder, or PTSD. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
