The activities will include:<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n<strong>Icons of World War II<\/strong><br \/>\nHalloween does not just have to be about dressing up like famous characters we see in movies or read about in books. Sometimes forgotten are the regular people we see around us who are making a difference.\u00a0 During the Icons of World War II program, we will take children back in time to learn about Rosie the Riveter, an iconic symbol for working women during World War II, the servicemen who risked their lives to fight in the war, and will highlight a local baker on Saipan, who opened his bakery during hard times in 1944. The program involves guided tours, read-alouds, and activities centered around these themes.<\/p>\n<p>All children in grades K-5 are invited to participate in the program. Middle school (6th-8th) and high school (9th-12th) students are welcome to join us as group leaders and volunteers.\u00a0 Registration is required and slots are limited.\u00a0A parent must complete and submit the registration form to secure a spot.\u00a0Registration forms can be picked up at the Visitor Center.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022Saturday, Oct.20, 2018<br \/>\nWorld War II Servicemen: 9am to 11:30am<br \/>\nRosie the Riveter: 2pm to 4:30pm<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u2022Saturday, Oct. 27, 2018\u00a0<br \/>\nHerman \u201cPan\u201d Guerrero: A Baker in War, from 9am to 3pm. This session will include a\u00a0field-trip\u00a0to Herman\u2019s Bakery.\u00a0 Parents are asked to provide lunch for their child.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Early WWII Trick or Treating at the Visitor Center<\/strong><br \/>\nFrom Oct. 27 to Oct. 31, from 9am to 5pm at the Visitor Center, everyone is invited to complete an activity sheet and learn about the history of our islands. Once submitted, participants can claim a Halloween treat.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n<strong>Halloween at American Memorial Park<\/strong><br \/>\nThis Halloween, the community is invited to stop by American Memorial Park for some Halloween fun.
