{"id":287809,"date":"2018-10-31T06:06:45","date_gmt":"2018-10-30T20:06:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=287809"},"modified":"2018-10-31T06:06:45","modified_gmt":"2018-10-30T20:06:45","slug":"yutu-updates","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/yutu-updates\/","title":{"rendered":"YUTU UPDATES"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Mass care<\/p>\n<p>The American Red Cross NMI Chapter and Salvation Army continue to provide food to shelters for over 900 individuals.<br \/>\nMarianas Young Professionals assisted with 300 meals for those affected by Super Typhoon Yutu.<\/p>\n<p>Relief assistance<\/p>\n<p>Relief assistance has arrived from Guam, with engineers from the Guam Power Authority assisting with power and water restoration.<br \/>\nAbout 140 Guam Guardsmen have started their mission on Saipan and will be here for about 60 days.<br \/>\nThe Army Guard\u2019s 1224th Engineer Support Company is here, in support of debris clearing missions.<br \/>\nGov. Eddie Calvo has given approval for the Guam National Guard\u2019s support mission.<br \/>\nThe Guam International Airport Authority has sent two senior airfield electricians to Saipan. The GIAA team will help the Saipan airport resume full operation. <\/p>\n<p>Power &amp; water restoration, CUC information<\/p>\n<p>The Commonwealth Utilities Corp. has manpower aid from the Colorado Primary Source and Guam Power Authority.<br \/>\nCUC has already restored power to Feeder 1, Partial 1 &amp; 2 by Sunday at 4:35pm. This gives power to the main line of the Commonwealth Health Center and certain areas along Navy Hill, Upper Navy Hill (Chalan Galaide), Puerto Rico, and Garapan.<br \/>\nResidents on this feeder are also back online.<br \/>\nPre-paid residents living along this feeder line may buy tokens at the Customer Center Payment Window. Hours of Operation are Mondays through Fridays from 10am to 12pm. All other CUC offices are closed until further notice.<br \/>\nOn Tinian, two generators have landed on-island, one to power the Maui water well to assist in pumping water into the Tinian Health Center, and another to assist with power generation into the island\u2019s only hospital. Tapochao and Belau St.) \u2013 9am to 3pm<br \/>\nKagman (off Kagman Rd.) \u2013 9am to 3pm<br \/>\nKanat Tabla (located before the rock quarry) \u2013 9am to 3pm<br \/>\nKoblerville (between Hanam Market &amp; Tottoville) \u2013 9am to 3pm<\/p>\n<p>Shelter information<\/p>\n<p>The following shelters are open and are still accepting residents requiring refuge:<br \/>\n\u00b7       Tanapag Middle School availability \u2013 8<br \/>\n\u00b7       Dandan Head Start availability \u2013 3<br \/>\n\u00b7       Kagman Elementary School availability \u2013 45<br \/>\n\u00b7       Kagman High School availability \u2013 3<\/p>\n<p>Healthcare updates<\/p>\n<p>The following numbers as received from the Commonwealth Health Center describe the updated number of injuries related to Super Typhoon Yutu:<br \/>\nDay 1 &#8211; October 25th: 133 ER visits, 76 were typhoon related<br \/>\nDay 2 &#8211; October 26th: 87 ER visits, 22 were typhoon related<br \/>\nDay 3 &#8211; October 27th: 111 ER visits, 7 were typhoon related<br \/>\nDay 4 &#8211; October 28th: 83 ER visits, 16 were typhoon related<br \/>\nIn the past 96 hours, CHCC recorded a total of 121 typhoon-related ER visits. <\/p>\n<p>Medical transport information<\/p>\n<p>The Commonwealth Office of Transit Authority\u2019s demand response service will run from 8:30am to 4:30pm, Mondays through Saturdays, and closed on holidays and Sundays. Reservations are on a first come, first serve basis and must be made at least two days in advance. Exact change only. O. boxes and the retail and parcel pickup windows have resumed operation.<br \/>\nU.S Postal System Saipan branch scanner system is down, so tracking information is unavailable for residents to track delivery of packages, even if delivered.
