(Contributed Photo)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The CNMI\u2019s Carol Lee has completed her tournaments in South Korea and is going to Mexico later this week to compete in two ITF Juniors event.<\/p>\n<p>Lee played in the 2018 Seogwipo Asia\/Oceania Closed Junior Championships and bowed out of competition early when she fell to Japanese and No. 16 seed Saki Imamura in last Monday\u2019s singles contest, 2-6, 2-6. In her other tournament in South Korea\u2014the 2018 Lee Duk Hee Cup Chuncheon International Junior Tennis Championships\u2014she made it to the quarterfinals of the doubles event after losing in the first round in the singles last week.<\/p>\n<p>The 16-year-old and her teammate, Thailand\u2019s Lunda Kumhom, won over entries Eunchae Kim and Ha Yeong Ryu of South Korea, 6-3, 6-4, at Chuncheon Songam Sports Town Tennis Courts in Chuncheon to march into the quarterfinals. Lee and Kumhom were then beaten by South Korea\u2019s Yeon Woo Ku and Chinese-Taipei\u2019s Chao-Yi Wang, 6-0, 7-5. In the singles competition, South Korea\u2019s Dayeon Back eliminated Lee, 6-1, 6-2.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI did not meet my goals for the two tournaments in South Korea. I\u2019m disappointed. I am getting ready for Mexico and Florida and I will do better and try my best to have a better result,\u201d Lee told Saipan Tribune yesterday.<\/p>\n<p>In Mexico, Lee will first see action in the Copa Mundial Campeche FMT that will be held at the Campeche Country Club in Campeche from Nov. 12 to 18. The Copa is a Grade 1 event, which awards 280 points to the singles winner and 210 to the doubles champions.<\/p>\n<p>For her second tournament in the Central America country, the CNMI player will participate in the Mundial Juvenil Yucatan HSBC FMT, which will take place at the Club Campestre de Yucat\u00e1n Calle in Merida from Nov. 19 to 25.
