{"id":288571,"date":"2018-11-14T06:00:46","date_gmt":"2018-11-13T20:00:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=288571"},"modified":"2018-11-14T06:00:46","modified_gmt":"2018-11-13T20:00:46","slug":"man-in-stabbing-death-in-guam-pleads-not-guilty","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/man-in-stabbing-death-in-guam-pleads-not-guilty\/","title":{"rendered":"Man in stabbing death in Guam pleads not guilty"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>HAGATNA, Guam<\/strong> (AP)\u2014A man accused of stabbing to death a Guam teenager during a home invasion has pleaded not guilty.<\/p>\n<p>The Pacific Daily News reports 24-year-old Brandon Michael Acosta entered his plea Wednesday to charges of aggravated murder and home invasion.<\/p>\n<p>Acosta was arrested in June after 15-year-old Timicca Nauta was found stabbed to death in her Chalan Koda home.<\/p>\n<p>According to court documents, authorities claim that Acosta told another inmate that he killed Nauta.<\/p>\n<p>Authorities allege that Acosta said he did not intend to kill the teen, but \u201che merely made a mistake\u201d after entering her dark bedroom.<\/p>\n<p>The charges against Acosta are enhanced with special allegations of commission of a felony while on felony release.
