Gov. Ralph DLG Torres is extending a hand of reconciliation to everyone as the CNMI moves forward after a bitter election that saw mudslinging and accusations were thrown around on social media. <\/p>\n
Torres and Delegate Gregorio Kilili C. Sablan (Ind-MP) congratulated each other for winning in their respective posts in last Tuesday\u2019s elections.<\/p>\n
Torres and his running mate, Senate President Arnold I. Palacios (R-Saipan), defeated the independent tandem of former governor Juan N. Babauta and Dr. Rita A. Sablan, while Delegate Sablan was re-elected to again represent the CNMI in the U.S. Congress.<\/p>\n
\u201cI congratulate Congressman Sablan on his re-election. I look forward to working with him and our elected leaders in our ongoing recovery efforts for Typhoon Mangkhut and Super Typhoon Yutu,\u201d said Torres.<\/p>\n
\u201cAdditional support from Congress will assist us greatly toward achieving a sense of normalcy again. The time for healing is now, and we must put politics aside to help every single person who calls these islands home. I thank the congressman for his support of our efforts.\u201d<\/p>\n
Delegate Sablan, likewise, sent his congratulatory message to the GOP bets. \u201cI congratulate Gov. Torres and lieutenant governor-elect Palacios, and everyone who was elected to office on Tuesday.\u201d<\/p>\n
