Medical outreach\/mission<\/strong><\/p>\n

The medical team of Samaritan Purse will conduct a medical outreach in the church of Upper Room International Ministries on Gualo Rai Road, across Marianas Pacific (Marpac) in Gualo Rai this Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2018, starting at 9am.\u00a0The community and children are invited to avail of their service.\u00a0They will offer the following free services: flu shots, blood pressure check, blood sugar check, first aid for injuries\/wounds, consultation\/counseling, and other medical needs. Free bento from Korean Association<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Korean Association on Saipan will be giving away free bento to the community at the following locations beginning 11:30am. Up to 200-300 bento will be prepared every day.\u00a0The items will e given away on a first come, first serve basis.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u2022\tNov. 20: Judy\u2019s Caf\u00e9, As Lito

Drinking water distribution<\/strong><\/p>\n

The CNMI government and the U.S. Department of Defense will be facilitating the distribution of drinkable water at the reverse osmosis station at Pakpak Beach in San Antonio. It is open daily Monday to Sunday, from 7:30am to 6pm. Residents must bring their own clean water containers There is a limit of five 5-gallon water bottles per household. (PR)<\/p>\n

Water refilling stations<\/strong><\/p>\n

The U.S. Department of Defense will be providing drinkable water at the following water buffalo filling station at the Koblerville Fire Station and Mt. Carmel Cathedral field. The water buffalos are completely self-serve. The community is welcome to fill up their own containers.\u00a0Residents must bring their own clean water containers to fill up at the water buffalo stations. The stations are open daily, from 8am to 6pm. There is a limit of 25 gallons per household. (PR)<\/p>\n

Thanksgiving hours of transfer station, Marpi landfill<\/strong><\/p>\n

In observance of Thanksgiving Day, the Lower Base Transfer Station and the Marpi landfill will be closed all day on Thursday, Nov. 22, 2018. Normal operations will resume on Friday, Nov. 23, 2018. (PR)<\/p>\n

CHamoru commission meeting set<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Kumisi\u00f3n i Fino\u2019 CHamoru yan i Fina\u2019n\u00e5\u2019guen i Historia yan i Lina\u2019la\u2019 i Taotao T\u00e5no\u2019 (Commission on CHamoru Language and the Teaching of the History and Culture of the Indigenous People of Guam)\u00a0will hold its\u00a0monthly meeting to Nov. 20, 2018, Tuesday,\u00a0from 12:3pm to 3pm, at the Garden House (former Guam Museum)\u00a0in the Plaza de Espana,\u00a0Hag\u00e5t\u00f1a. UOG seeks noms for Palulap Award<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Faculty Senate of the University of Guam is accepting nominations for the Palulap Medallion Award. The Palulap Award is presented to a member of the community of Guam who has made extraordinary contributions to the protection and promotion of the fundamental academic principles of the University of Guam, including academic freedom, institutional integrity, institutional and individual autonomy, and shared academic governance. The award includes a medallion and plaque, each engraved with a figure of Palulap, the legendary Micronesian navigator.\u2028<\/p>\n

Nominations are solicited annually, although the award is only granted when a nominee unequivocally meets the award criteria. \u2028The deadline to submit nominations is 5pm on Friday, Feb. 15.
