{"id":288962,"date":"2018-11-21T06:00:54","date_gmt":"2018-11-20T20:00:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=288962"},"modified":"2018-11-21T06:00:54","modified_gmt":"2018-11-20T20:00:54","slug":"police-storm-png-parliament-for-apec-summit-pay","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/police-storm-png-parliament-for-apec-summit-pay\/","title":{"rendered":"Police storm PNG Parliament for APEC summit pay"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>PORT MORESBY, Papua New Guinea<\/strong> (AP)\u2014Disgruntled police and prison guards stormed Papua New Guinea\u2019s Parliament on Tuesday in a pay dispute that stemmed from an international summit hosted by the South Pacific island nation over the weekend, a lawmaker said.<\/p>\n<p>Images posted by opposition lawmaker Bryan Kramer on social media showed broken windows, smashed furniture, framed pictures torn from corridor walls and plants tipped over.<\/p>\n<p>Kramer said the protesters had not been paid allowances for their security work at a Pacific Rim leaders\u2019 summit held in Port Moresby.
