Both the Rota and Saipan mayors are giving merry greetings of \u201cHappy Thanksgiving\u201d to their constituents today, even as they noted that hardships \u201ccome and go.\u201d<\/p>\n
Saipan Mayor David M. Apatang noted that, regardless of the circumstance, one must take the time to give thanks.<\/p>\n
\u201cDespite the circumstance each one of us finds ourselves in today, we must give thanks to our Lord for making this day and all days past and coming,\u201d Apatang said. \u201cEach day is a challenge for each one of us and, with our pledge to support one another, each one of us will make it through this trying time.\u201d <\/p>\n
\u201cFrom my employees who serve you day in and day out and from me who is committed to making sure your concerns and needs are heard and taken cared of, I and my employees takes this moment to wish all families and friends on Saipan a Happy Thanksgiving,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Apatang also gave thanks to the U.S. Army National Guard from Guam, the U.S. Army Reserve, and federal agencies such as the Federal Emergency Management Agency since they are spending Thanksgiving festivities on Saipan.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are truly blessed for your presence here and for sacrificing precious time away from your family as you spend Thanksgiving here [on] Saipan,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Rota Mayor Efraim M. Atalig noted the difficulties faced by everyone, especially during the political season. <\/p>\n
\u201c\u2026[I] faced a lot of obstacles along the way, from having four opponents politically, to a court case which I will be facing very soon. But I am very thankful for you all for still believing in me. Let\u2019s all come together with respect and help each other.
