{"id":289390,"date":"2018-11-28T06:06:22","date_gmt":"2018-11-27T20:06:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=289390"},"modified":"2018-11-28T06:06:22","modified_gmt":"2018-11-27T20:06:22","slug":"dnap-drive-thru-canceled","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/dnap-drive-thru-canceled\/","title":{"rendered":"DNAP drive-thru canceled"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Department of Community and Cultural Affairs would end the drive-through Disaster Nutritional Assistance Program number distribution at the Minachom Atdao in Susupe<\/p>\n<p>DCCA Secretary Robert Hunter told Saipan Tribune yesterday that the drive-through DNAP number distributions at Minachom Atdao in Susupe would end today and that only walk-ins would be entertained. <\/p>\n<p>While the number of DNAP registrations has already reached over 14,000 just on Saipan, Hunter noted that only a trickle of people showed up during the DNAP number distributions from 9am to 3pm yesterday.<\/p>\n<p>Not many were getting numbers, said Hunter, each time he passed by the pavilion to check on the number distributions. \u201cI just don\u2019t see the justification to set up [the drive-through distribution site] in Minachom Atdao again since it was set up to handle massive amounts of traffic.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s already unnecessary,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>Hunter noted that the decision does not need the approval of the U.S. Department of Agriculture Food Nutrition Service and the Federal Emergency Management Agency.<\/p>\n<p>According to Hunter, there are about14,000 households on Saipan and Tinian.
