Jones has been called off; he remains missing. <\/p>\n<p>According to Department of Public Safety Commissioner Robert Guerrero, the search for Jones was called off 72 hours after the launch of a search for him at the Grotto and surrounding areas.<\/p>\n<p>DPS, along with the Department of Fire and Emergency Medical Services and the DPS Boating Safety, started the search on Sunday, Nov. 18.  <\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s standard DPS procedure to call off search and rescue missions after 72 hours. <\/p>\n<p>Guerrero added that the search and rescue mission for Jones could not be extended and he is classified as still missing. <\/p>\n<p>Guerrero said that the victim\u2019s family and all parties involved have been notified that all search efforts have ceased. <\/p>\n<p>In a previous article on Saipan Tribune, it said that DFEMS said it received a call from DPS 911 about an overdue diver at the Grotto at 10:30am last Nov. 18. <\/p>\n<p>DFEMS conducted a cliff line search while search teams dove inside Grotto and DPS Boating Safety and Department of Land and Natural Resources Fish and Wildlife conducted a dive search outside the Grotto, in coordination with the U.S. Coast Guard and the Navy helicopter from HC-25 out of Guam.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The search for 65-year-old John J.
