CNMI residents are encouraged to start cleanup and repairs once it is safe to re-enter their homes. Residents can start cleaning up before a Federal Emergency Management Agency inspector comes to your home.<\/p>\n
\u2022 Clean up debris as soon as possible.
\n\u2022 Take photos or videos of the outside and inside of the building, including damaged personal property.
\n\u2022 Photograph the make, model, and serial number of appliances and electronics. Take these particular items to the drop-off locations for household hazardous waste, white goods, and electronics.
\n\u2022 Immediately throw away items that pose a health risk, such as perishable food. Any flooded or otherwise contaminated food items should be discarded unless they are in undamaged cans or commercially sealed glass jars. Sanitize the container before opening it.<\/p>\n
Sanitize pots, pans, utensils, dishes, glassware, and other items you intend to keep.<\/p>\n
Before starting any structural work, get a building permit from your local building authorities.<\/p>\n
