{"id":289507,"date":"2018-11-30T06:00:07","date_gmt":"2018-11-29T20:00:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=289507"},"modified":"2018-11-30T06:00:07","modified_gmt":"2018-11-29T20:00:07","slug":"taxi-driver-found-to-be-overstaying-tourist","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/taxi-driver-found-to-be-overstaying-tourist\/","title":{"rendered":"Taxi driver  found to be  overstaying  tourist"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Federal agents arrested in Garapan on Tuesday a taxi driver who allegedly later admitted that he is an overstaying tourist and has a fake CNMI driver\u2019s license.<\/p>\n<p>Cong Chen, 28, a Chinese national, was taken before the U.S. District Court for the NMI yesterday morning after the Homeland Security Investigations charged him with conspiracy to produce a false identification document.<\/p>\n<p>Chief Judge Ramona V. Manglona set a detention hearing for Tuesday, Dec. 4, at 9am. Chen was then remanded to the custody of the U.S. Marshal pending further proceedings.<\/p>\n<p>Benjamin Petersburg, on behalf of appointed defense counsel Bruce Berline, appeared as counsel for Chen. Assistant U.S. attorney Garth Backe appeared for the U.S. government. <\/p>\n<p>According to the complaint filed in court by HSI special agent Michael D.
