{"id":290013,"date":"2018-12-10T06:00:11","date_gmt":"2018-12-09T20:00:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=290013"},"modified":"2018-12-10T06:00:11","modified_gmt":"2018-12-09T20:00:11","slug":"community-briefs-december-10-2018","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/community-briefs-december-10-2018\/","title":{"rendered":"Community Briefs &#8211; December 10, 2018"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Military training at FDM, Warning Area 12,Warning Area 517<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>ASAN, Guam<\/strong>\u2014The U.S. military will conduct training in the island of Farallon de Medinilla, Warning Area 12, and Warning Area 517 on Dec. 10, 12, and 13, from 10am to 3pm.<\/p>\n<p>Training will also be conducted at W-517 on Dec. 14-15, from 9am to 2pm.<\/p>\n<p>It is recommended the public, fishermen and marine tour operators monitor the Coast Guard broadcast notice to mariners for advisories.<\/p>\n<p>The general location of the training in Farallon de Medinilla will be in a 12-nautical mile radius of the island.<\/p>\n<p>W-12 begins south of Guam and extends south-southwest in international waters. <\/p>\n<p>W-517 begins south of Guam and extends south-southwest in international waters. The Santa Rosa Reef and Galvez Banks are open for public use. <\/p>\n<p>These types of trainings are designed to enhance the readiness of military personnel. Residents in surrounding areas should not be alarmed if they see or hear increased activity associated with the training.
