(Contributed Photo)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>A partnership between the Northern Marianas College and the Department of Public Safety\u2014their third thus far\u2014has resulted in 14 new graduates in the Police Academy training program.<\/p>\n<p>The new batch of cops is composed entirely of cadets from Tinian.<\/p>\n<p>The graduation ceremony over the weekend was held on Tinian\u2019s Kammer Beach.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe cadets\u2019 training included academic and hands-on training in areas such as constitutional law, report writing, and officer survivor skills,\u201d interim NMC president Frankie Eliptico told Saipan Tribune, adding that the new police officers also earned 39 college credits. He encouraged the officers to sustain the momentum of the 39 college credits and work toward a college degree.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEarning a college degree, just like graduating from the police academy, is something no one can ever take away from you,\u201d Eliptico said. \u201cIt is an accomplishment that will open more doors for you at DPS and within your chosen career as a public servant.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Of the 14 fresh graduates, Ringo C. Reyes was named class valedictorian. He was also presented with the Top Gun Award, while Jacklyn U. Sanchez was named class salutatorian.<\/p>\n<p>According to Eliptico, this was the third collaboration between DPS and NMC. He acknowledged the aid of DPS Commissioner Robert Guerrero, DPS resident director for Tinian Matthew Masga, and Lt.
