{"id":291178,"date":"2019-01-03T06:00:35","date_gmt":"2019-01-02T20:00:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=291178"},"modified":"2019-01-03T06:00:35","modified_gmt":"2019-01-02T20:00:35","slug":"foundation-distributes-donations","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/foundation-distributes-donations\/","title":{"rendered":"Foundation distributes  donations"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Lady Diann Torres Foundation handed out last Saturday afternoon the donated contents of a shipping container that came from the U.S. mainland in support of the Saipan community from the aftermath of Super Typhoon Yutu.<\/p>\n<p>The donated items\u2014from Guam, the U.S. mainland\u2019s Pacific Northwest area such as Oregon, Washington state, Idaho; and even Nevada, Arizona, and California\u2014were distributed on Dec. 29, 2018, at the Dandan softball field.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are getting another container [on Dec. 30, 2018], and that container is coming directly from Las Vegas, Nevada,\u201d said foundation information officer Donovan Tudela in an interview last Saturday. \u201cWe are trying to give out as much as we can.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Saipan Tribune confirmed with Tudela yesterday that the foundation is holding another donation distribution at the San Antonio basketball court on Saturday, Jan. 5, 2019, 10am.<\/p>\n<p>Foundation program coordinator Claudia Flores said Saturday that the contents of the containers included hygiene supplies, linens, entertainment items, canned goods, instant noodle packets, footwear, clothing, and even water.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA lot of the items here are the basic necessities.
