(Contributed photo)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Achieve3000 recently announced that Mount Carmel School\u2019s 4th grade students under their teacher, Jonabel Rumley, won the \u201cRead to Succeed\u201d contest sponsored by Achieve3000.<\/p>\n<p>The contest, which ran from early November through December 2018, was held to encourage students to succeed in Achieve3000\u2019s online lessons designed to promote interdisciplinary literacy.  <\/p>\n<p>Every time a student in the class completed a multiple-choice activity, that student\u2019s class earned one point. For every score of 75 percent or higher, the class earned two points, and for every score of 88 percent or higher, the class earned three points.<\/p>\n<p>Rumley\u2019s students topped the contest with a record-breaking 54,025 points, for which they were awarded a class party sponsored by Achieve3000.<\/p>\n<p>School president Galvin Deleon Guerrero expressed how proud he was of Rumley and her students. \u201cEven with all the challenges brought by Super Typhoon Yutu, such as lack of power and limited internet connectivity, our students committed to doing their best. In the end, they emerged as the best!\u201d <\/p>\n<p>The achievement was significant enough to garner the attention of Achieve3000\u2019s chief executive officer, Stuard Udell.
