Bautista)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>McDonald\u2019s Guam\/Saipan donated $5,000 yesterday to repair the San Vicente Parish church, which sustained extensive damage from Super Typhoon Yutu.<\/p>\n<p>McDonald\u2019s Guam\/Saipan owner\/operator Marcia Ayuyu presented the company\u2019s donation to Bishop Ryan Jimenez of the Diocese of Chalan Kanoa and Fr. Jason Granado of the San Vicente Parish church.<\/p>\n<p>According to Jimenez, \u201cSan Vicente is one of the churches on Saipan that was damaged badly by Super Typhoon Yutu.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Granado said that church\u2019s three skylights and windows, among others, were badly damaged, but they could not start with the repairs and renovations because the parish wants to focus its resources on people who were affected by the typhoon. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe church suffered extensive damage. \u2026It was really a big loss for our parish. \u2026[But] our immediate task in the first couple of months after the typhoon was to take care of the needs of the people, like those families that lost their homes, to provide spiritual needs,\u201d he said<\/p>\n<p>According to Ayuyu, McDonald\u2019s decided to donate to the San Vicente Parish because they saw the help and support the parish gave its parishioners after Yutu. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cOn behalf of my family, my husband and my children, we want to thank [Jimenez and Granado] for their love and support for the community. It\u2019s a continuous love for the community. \u2026They reached out to the community.
