{"id":291355,"date":"2019-01-07T06:06:26","date_gmt":"2019-01-06T20:06:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=291355"},"modified":"2019-01-07T06:06:26","modified_gmt":"2019-01-06T20:06:26","slug":"td01w-no-longer-threatens","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/td01w-no-longer-threatens\/","title":{"rendered":"TD01W no longer threatens"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Tropical Depression 01W has shifted course and no longer poses a threat to the CNMI.<\/p>\n<p>According to the National Weather Service in Tiyan, Guam, the latest forecast track for Tropical Depression 01W has shifted southward, passing south of Guam around Friday or Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>At 10am yesterday, Tropical Depression 01W was still located in the Marshall Islands, moving north-northwest at 7 mph with maximum sustained winds of 30 mph. <\/p>\n<p>The forecast stated that Tropical Depression 01W remains a poorly-organized depression but is still expected to gradually intensify as it continues north-northwest through the Marshall Islands with a gradual turn toward the west-northwest on Monday. Tropical Depression 01W could become a tropical storm Monday.<\/p>\n<p>The NWS would like to urge the community verify the authenticity of weather information.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ve received numerous reports of an audio recording circulating via social media claiming a possible typhoon or super typhoon threatening Guam on Monday\/Tuesday. This recording is believed to have originated following a weather brief on Typhoon Mangkhut in September.
