{"id":291371,"date":"2019-01-07T06:03:27","date_gmt":"2019-01-06T20:03:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=291371"},"modified":"2019-01-07T06:03:27","modified_gmt":"2019-01-06T20:03:27","slug":"ldtf-distributes-donations-expects-new-container","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/ldtf-distributes-donations-expects-new-container\/","title":{"rendered":"LDTF distributes donations, expects new container"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Lady Diann Torres Foundation distributed over the weekend their fourth batch of donations for victims of Super Typhoon Yutu at the San Antonio basketball court.<\/p>\n<p>First Lady Diann Torres, who personally supervised the distributions last Saturday morning, estimated that about 500 people showed up.<\/p>\n<p>Representatives of the foundation previously noted that last Saturday\u2019s container was from Las Vegas, Nevada. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are expecting a shipment out of San Diego, California within the next two weeks,\u201d Torres said, noting that specifics for the distribution would be posted in a separate announcement on the foundation\u2019s social media page. <\/p>\n<p>The 40-foot container\u2019s leftover supplies would also be distributed in a future date, she noted.<\/p>\n<p>Saturday\u2019s distribution included hygiene items, blankets, food, water, and other relief goods.<\/p>\n<p> \u201cTogether with this container, we are distributing out Federal Emergency Management Agency water and meals-ready-to-eat,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>According to Torres, the foundation has been working with several off-island residents who have reached out to the foundation to ask for its help in the distribution.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c\u2026We are trying to service those that are really affected by the typhoon\u2014the people in the south,\u201d she said. \u201c\u2026But everybody is welcome to come down, even from the north,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n<p>The foundation already distributed supplies at the Kagman Emergency Shelter Facility, coordinating with music organizations such as the Music of the Marianas Association and Dandan Marianas.
