Team Koka purchased pillows, pillowcases, blankets, towel sets, $20 gas vouchers, personal hygiene and cleaning supplies and distributed them to a little bit over 300 families on Tinian over the last few days. <\/p>\n
Friends and families of Team Koka sent donated items to the island and some monetary help. This relief was a united effort by all those who live off-island and still hold Tinian in their hearts. <\/p>\n
VOICES of the CNMI-Tinian Chapter and Team Koka is also proud to announce that they will be holding a \u201cDay of Acceptance\u201d fundraiser at the end of the month. <\/p>\n
The Day of Acceptance falls on Jan. 20, a day dedicated to the social acceptance of disability and to honor the late Annie Hopkins. She was the founder of International Symbol of Acceptance. <\/p>\n
The self-advocacy groups will hold a Family Fun Night on Jan. 25 for individuals with disabilities and families 21 years and under. <\/p>\n
A dinner fundraiser \u201cDine for Disabilities\u201d on Jan. 26 at Pop\u2019z Restaurant, Tinian strictly for 21 years and above will include a raffle drawing and silent auction.
