(NMC)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The Bank of Hawaii presented a donation of $10,000 to Northern Marianas College to support the college\u2019s programs relating to workforce development and to help with the institution\u2019s recovery from Super Typhoon Yutu.<\/p>\n<p>NMC sustained millions of dollars\u2019 worth of damage from Super Typhoon Yutu. The storm\u2019s strong winds and rain ripped roofs off buildings, devasted classrooms, destroyed hundreds of computers and lab equipment, and displaced many staff members from their offices.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBank of Hawaii\u2019s donation goes a long way in helping NMC recover from the Super Typhoon Yutu,\u201d said Frankie Eliptico, NMC Interim President. \u201cWe are deeply appreciative of the Bank of Hawaii and the Bank of Hawaii Foundation for their contribution and help.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The college is currently holding classes at Saipan Southern High School. In February, college classes will resume at NMC\u2019s As Terlaje campus when the temporary classroom structures made available by FEMA are fully set up.<\/p>\n<p>Bank of Hawaii had also donated over $30,000 in the last few years to help support the College\u2019s business and workforce development programs. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor more than 35 years, Northern Marianas College has been graduating highly skilled and knowledgeable students, some of whom have become employees of the Bank of Hawaii,\u201d said Rose Sumor, Bank of Hawaii vice president and branch manager- Gualo Rai branch. \u201cWe want to continue supporting the college as they recover from Super Typhoon Yutu to ensure they continue to help train and educate the CNMI\u2019s students.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The presentation of the donation was made at the bank\u2019s Gualo Rai branch. The check was presented by Rose Sumor, BOH branch manager along with Joseph P. Fujihira, officer &amp; assistant branch manager and Joanne H. Aldan, officer &amp; assistant branch manager.
