As is standard procedure each time a new administration is sworn in, officials of the Marianas Visitors Authority, led by MVA board chair Marian Aldan- Pierce and managing director Christopher Concepcion, have resigned from their posts as a matter of courtesy.<\/p>\n
Concepcion said Tuesday that, as far as he knows, Aldan-Pierce, directors Cinta Kaipat, Jerry Tan, and Nick Nishikawa have already turned in their courtesy letters of resignation. He is not sure if the other directors have already resigned on their own but they are all aware of Gov. Ralph DLG Torres\u2019 request.<\/p>\n
Concepcion disclosed that he himself submitted his courtesy letter of resignation addressed to Torres and Lt. Gov.-elect Arnold Palacios and the MVA board of directors.<\/p>\n
\u201cI know I technically report to the MVA board but, in deference to the incoming administration, I submitted my courtesy resignation to allow them to determine if they feel I am the best person to lead the MVA in the next four years,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
It is now up to Torres if he\u2019s going to accept their courtesy resignations.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe will honor his decision regardless,\u201d Concepcion said. <\/p>\n
Concepcion has been the MVA managing director since April 2016.<\/p>\n
Under Aldan-Pierce\u2019s and Concepcion\u2019s leadership, the CNMI\u2019s tourism industry has improved in multiple ways, resulting in many arrival records broken, awards the MVA\/CNMI received, programs the MVA started, and signature events launched.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
